Our family concert will celebrate the beauty of Mother Earth. Experience delight through Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite children’s fables. Laugh and cry with the Story of Babar: The Little Elephant as he journeys through a life full of adventures. Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony, made famous in Disney’s Fantasia, is considered one of the earliest programmatic pieces of music. We will also feature this year’s High School Soloist Competition winner, Tiffany Peterson.

Tiffany Peterson is a junior at Century High School and is a member of the CHS Chamber Orchestra.  She served as principal cellist in the ND Middle Honors Orchestra for two years, and performed in the 2015 Middle School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall.  Tiffany played in the cello section of the ND High School All State Orchestra in 2016, and was principal cellist in 2017.  She plays with the Bismarck Mandan Symphony Youth Orchestra, Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra, and was the junior division winner of the 2016-17 Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition, which featured her concerto performance with the BMSO.  Tiffany attended the Masterworks Festival in Cedarville, OH, and she studies privately with Dr. Natalia Vacarciuc.

Tiffany is also a trombonist and plays in the CHS Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band.  She was awarded outstanding performer at the 2017 Brass Festival for trombone solo and brass trio.

She is the daughter of Marlin and Leslie Peterson.
