Our 94th season starts off with a showcase of some of the most performed pieces of music in the classical repertoire that begin with a “P”. Experience the sensual Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun by Debussy inspired by Mallarmé’s poem with the same name. Enjoy game-changing composer Igor Stravinsky’s Pulcinella and Fauré’s incidental music to the play Pelleas and Melisande, which is one of the most beautiful pieces in the French repertoire. We will end with the majestic Le Prelude, also inspired by poetry and one of the most popular compositions by Hungarian composer Franz Liszt.
